Shoot....and score!

I remember getting these same photos with McCall when she was small. She also loved to play basketball with her dad (she was a little smaller and would take her shirt off so she'd match her dad.)

Now Callie has enjoyed some games with her dad. Both kids have learned how to dribble, pass and shoot. Jeff has always enjoyed the game and it is great he can pass down his skills to the girls.

I love my dad!

Between now and the end of summer one of our favorite things to do is roast marshmallows and making smores. I am not much of fan of marshmallows...but enjoy making them for others but the kids can eat 6-10 a night.

It is a great way to enjoy the night air and connect with the kids. No TV, electronics, phones or noise to distract us.

First BBQ of the season...

Finally it was warm enough to have a BBQ. At the last minute we

decided to have some friends over and

enjoy the warm 80 degree day.

Neil Armstrong...

My cousin Rick was on his 3rd deployment and recently got home safe..(yeah)..while he was away he got to meet Neil Armstrong.

Here is what he wrote to me a few months ago:

Yesterday I met Neil Armstrong, he is currently touring with Jim Lovell from Apollo 13, Gene Cernan from Apollo 17 and Steve Ritchie, the only USAF fighter pilot ACE since the Korean war.

It was very cool to hear what these guys had to say about what they have done in life. When you see movies and TV shows about space it seems so distant and far fetched, but to meet people who have actually been to the moon and hear them talk about it, it's pretty amazing.

Something they said I thought was very significant, "We have gone and done things that no one thought was possible,

now it's your turn."
