Sleepover fun....

Last weekend we watched my 3 nieces and nephew so my SIL and BIL could have a night out. Having 6 kids is a lot or work, but it sure was fun. The boys played video games while the girls ran around playing dress up and gymnastics. We had pizza for dinner and also made a fire for marshmallows and smores.
We rented "17 Again" and had movie night in the basement.

The following morning Jeff made everyone waffles and we played a little more. We love playing with our cousins. Come back and play with us again!!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

The first day of 3rd grade. I am so impressed with how well Callie is growing up....yet part of me is so sad that she is growing up TOO fast. This day is always bitter sweet to me. It seems like only yesterday we were planning pre-school and learning to tie our shoes. Now she is finding her independence and branching out. She has a really cute teacher and loves her school.

Here she is showing off her new back pack and some friends she was so excited to see this morning.

There are no photos of McCall’s first day since having your mom take your picture or be around at jr. high is really uncool............which I hate. :(

A Jordanelle Adventure

Our great friends the Jensen’s let us borrow their condo at Jordanelle for a few days. We were less than 5 minutes from the lake so we could come and go a lot easier. One day we decided to head into Park City. We took the kids down the Alpine Slide a few times and had a yummy lunch at a BBQ place.

We invited a few family and friends up to play with us. We had so much fun teaching the kids to water-ski and using our new tube. Next year we will stay longer and try to get everyone up to relax and play!

Roasting Marshmellows!

My cute sister-in-law Janine and her family came over for dinner last night. I made a really yummy chicken tortilla soup. Everyone really enjoyed it. The kids and dads played volleyball. It was really cool so we decided to make a fire, roast marshmallows and eat smores.

Catching up....

My uncle Stan and his wife Patsy (from Texas) flew into Wendover for a few days of gambling fun. While they were so close they drove into Salt Lake to see us. We took them up to Snowbird for lunch. We were going to take them up the tram but it was too windy and cool. We visited a lot and caught up on each others lives. We also had brownies and ice cream for papa’s birthday. They are staying a few more days in Wendover and will head back to Texas then.

It has been 15+ years since we have seen them. It was great to catch up and see them again.

Callie's piano recital.

Last night Callie had her first piano recital. She had to memorize three songs (Be Our Guest, Piano Blues and Clap Hands). She did so well and we are so proud of her. She has a very good hear for music and can play almost anything she hears. What a special gift.

Good job Callie!

HAPPY 12th BIRTHDAY McCALL

Today McCall turns 12! WOW! We waited for almost 2 years (and many infertility treatments) until we found out we were pregnant. (Even then I didn’t believe the doctors.) Her due date was July 27th….but she wasn’t ready to come out. We went to the hospital and spent the night trying to convince her to come…still they sent us home. A few days later after a yummy lobster dinner and a night of feeling uncomfortable it was time!!

We got to the hospital at 4:00am and she was born at 5:30pm.
A very long day but worth the wait.
Thank you McCall for coming to our family!!
You are very special to us and we love you very much.
Oh, Happy Birthday to Barack Obama!

Park City Soccer Tournament

This weekend the RED DEVILS competed at the Park City Extreme Cup. The entire teams spend 3 nights in the Jensen’s condos near Jordanelle. McCall scored 3 goals for the team during the tournament even though she wasn’t entirely herself and felt sick the first night. (A little nerves, excitement and dehydration.)

The girls made it to the semi-finals Saturday morning, but lost by 2 goals. It was a disappointing lost, but overall the team played well. The team ended the weekend with swimming and relaxing at the condo pool. Can’t wait to play again next year!
