The bond that we share.....

A few weeks ago the agency which helped us get Callie had a small get-together. Lorie Anderson and her family put together a yummy dinner and everyone brought something to share.
It never surprises me how quickly the kids bond with each other after being apart for so long. We caught up with some old friends and made some new ones too. We hope to see them again at the RMI Reunion this July.

We had a great spring and summer season. The girls played real hard and loved every minute of it. We lost 2 friends to other activities but have made 2 new friends that have joined the team. Here are some of McCall's (#18) soccer photos

Thank you to all who came to help celebrate my birthday Friday night. Jeff surprised me here at the house with sushi, lettuce wraps and margaritas...all my favorites! I have so many great friends/family I haven’t seen for so long come over to laugh/celebrate with me.

Deal or No Deal?

I had to post these cute photos from my youngest cousin Jodie. (She is holding case #1) She and a few friends were the “Deal or No Deal” girls for Halloween. They were in Vegas at Harry O's night club. Demetri- the owner of Harry O's made them a deal, and they ended up with the cash! What a cute idea. They all look so beautiful. They won 1st prize and danced the night away!

November is National Adoption Awareness Month.

November is National Adoption month, a month set aside to raise awareness about the adoption of children and youth from foster care. This year's theme,” You don't have to be perfect to be a perfect parent," includes a more focused effort that reaches out to the African American community and builds on the Ad Council's new (PSA) campaign of the Children’s Bureau, the Adoption Exchange Association, and AdoptUsKids.

What's the purpose? To put it plainly and simply: it is the month recognized for promoting adoption within in our communities, states, and nation. The focus is meant to be on children who are in the foster care system and are currently waiting to be adopted.

For those closest to us you know how passionate we are about adoption. Without adoption our family would NOT be complete. We would not have had the experiences we have without it and we certainly wouldn’t have our Callie. Please join me in raising awareness for adoption this month
