Missing my Grandma!

I am really missing my grandma lately. It’s been 7 months since she passed away...yet there isn’t a day that goes by I don’t think about her. I miss our talks, her laugh, her homemade jelly and especially her hugs! I have recently found things around the house that she gave to me that always make me sad…then happy.

A few weeks ago I called my grandpa on his cell phone. To my surprise my grandma’s voice is still on the voice-mail (it used to be her phone and I haven’t called it since she died). It totally took me by shock and sent me into tears. It was so nice to hear her voice….but also sad as well. Isn’t it funny how the littlest thing can stop you in your tracks?
I spent last Mother's Day with her cleaning her house, shampooing rugs, cleaning out closets and enjoying her talking to me while I did it. She was so appreciative and thankful for all that got accomplished that weekend. She loved a clean home...and I loved doing it for her.
I got to talk to her 2-3 days before she passed away. We were planning my next visit and what we would do…or how I could help her. I will regret not going earlier…but I can’t live with regrets….and she knew how much I loved her.

I miss you grandma!! Rest in peace!

Ice Breaker’s Tournament

This weekend we headed to St. George for The Ice Breaker’s Tournament. This is the second year we have gone and have enjoyed it each time. We registered and played with
the U13 and U14 girls which a lot harder.
Callie was asked to play in the U10 team as a guest player. She did really well considering she hasn’t done it for a few years. The girls really got into playing and did their best. McCall’s team lost more than they won…but it was fun to go.
What an excellent experience and opportunity.
The weather was a warm 64 and the fields were nice and green.
See you next year!

On Sunday the older girls spent the day by going to the DIXIE narrows, having lunch and hanging out.

Valentines

Not much of a fan of Valentines Day…but I can see why it is such an important holiday to have. We all need to feel love!...either from the ones who love you…or to show your appreciation for the ones you love. I get into the spirit and try my best to show those closest to me how much I love them. Still I’d prefer to show my affections on a day that was “demanded”.

Being the room mom for Callie’s class I was required to put together a party. I tried to cut back on all the candy handed out so I decided activities would be better. We had 4 centers with different Valentines activities to do. (Valentines Day cards, BINGO, bird house decorations and making Ipods.) It is always fun to visit the classroom and see how fun the kids can be at this age. The kids still got too much candy…but I guess it is one of the biggest candy holidays of the year (next to Halloween.)

Hope everyone had a good Valentines!
